Buku Principle- centered leadership oleh Stephen R. Covey

Stephen R. Covey is also an author for THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE. This PRINCIPLE- CENTERED LEADERSHIP according to the author is to be read after you complete reading the 7 habits ( or at least in my opinion you know about it coz I oso not finish reading the book only read da synopsis and hearing a lot of people talking about it)
Let’s recall back what all those 7 habits are
Habit 1 : Be Proactive
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
Habit 6: Synergize
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Sebenarnya saya tak habis lagi baca buku ni tapi mungkin lambat lagi nak abes bca kot. Bahasanya payah and u have to read it loud macam baca quran and tak semena mena at the end of the page u ask urself: oh, aku baca apa ni n u have to read it once again. Anyway, regardless of all those problems kalu jumpa buku ni baca saje.GANBATE!!
MEH SAYA KONGSIKAN SATU RAHSIA YANG SAYA DAPAT DI ZAMAN ZAMAN SAYA DOK SEKOLAH MAAHAD LAGI: KALAU TAK SEMPAT BACA BUKU KESELURUHANNYA ATAU (MUNGKIN MALASS) JGN TINGGAL JE BUKU TU GITU, AT LEAST BACA PART PREFACE ATAU PENDAHULUAN PUN CUKUP SEBAB BACA PART TU PUN SEBENARNYA ANDA SUDAH BOLEH DAPAT GAMBARAN KESULURUHAN REGARDING THE CONTENTS OF THE WHOLE BOOK)
Dalam buku ni, Stephen R. Covey (SRC) cerita lepas buku 7 habits dia tu laku habis dia mula jumpa ramai orang yang ada sincere intention untuk berubah dan berusaha untuk jadi lebih baik tapi guna variety of ill- advised approached yang akhirnya 7 habit yang beliau cadangkan tu berubah jadi 7 habit of INEFFECTIVE people, bak kata abangnya John Covey:
• Be reactive: doubt yourself and blame others
• Work without any clear end in mind
• Do the urgent thing first
• Think win/lose
• Seek first to be understood
• If you can’t win, compromise
• Fear change and put off improvement
The main idea in this book adalah kalau nak Berjaya begantung pada diri sendiri:
We often think of change and improvement coming from the OUTSIDE IN rather than from the INSIDE OUT. Even if we recognize the need for change within, we usually think in terms of learning new skills, rather than showing more integrity to basic principles. PRINCIPLE- CENTERED LEADERSHIP introduced a new paradigm- that we center our lives and our leadership of organizations and people on certain “true north” principle.( Quote from pg 18)
When trust is HIGH, we communicate easily, effortlessly, instantaneously. But when trust is LOW, communication is exhausting, time-consuming, ineffective and inordinately different.( Quote from pg 18)
Reading motivational book you have to read it from the very beginning until the end because the author will introduce his own terms and way to describe his own idea which can only be understood when you fully indulged in his book.
Centering life on correct principles is the key to developing this RICH INTERNAL POWER IN OUR LIVES AND WE CAN REALIZE MANY OF OUR DREAMS
The FOUR crucial dimensions in our lives are SECURITY, GUIDANCE, WISDOM AND POWER.
Lacking SECURITY and SELF- ESTEEM, we tend to be emotionally dependent on others.
Lacking WISDOM, we tend to repeat past mistake.
Lacking GUIDANCE, we trend to follow trends and fail to finish what we start.
Lacking POWER, we tend to reflect what happens to us and react to external condition and internal moods.

In organizational part, TREAT PEOLPLE THE WAY YOU WANT THEM TO TREAT YOU.

It’s not how much you accomplish in life that really counts,
but how much you give to others.
It’s not how high your dreams are built
but how high your faith can climb.
It’s not how many goals you reach,
but how many lives you touch.
It’s not who you know that matters,
but who you are inside.

I don’t know

For the time being I keep thinking that the discovery and research regarding human body was completed because the substance of research which is our body can be seen with our naked eyes compared to the study regarding cosmos; galaxy and stars. It really mysterious. But later I discover that there are still many things in human body remain unknown.

During my anatomy practical, we were taught that our right lung was divided into three lobes and the left lung only divided into 2 lobes. I ask him “Prof, why both of the lungs did not have same number of lobe? Does it have something to do and affect it function?” .He takes a long time to reply me and humbly said ‘I don’t know’. I was totally stunned with that answer. With more than 40 years of experience in anatomy, I don’t expect him to answer like that.

This situation reminded me with one story. Anas bin Malik was a great Muslim scholar during the period of sahabah. One day, one man came to him and asked him 100 questions. He can answer all the questions but surprisingly 10 question out of 100 that the man asked, Anas bin Malik replied ‘I don’t know’. The man was unsatisfied with his answer and said “Anas, you are the most knowledgeable person among us, you should not reply me with this kind of answer”. Anas then replied, “It’s true that I have more knowledge compared to others but the all- knowing is not me but ALLAH”

Say: "If the ocean were ink (wherewith to write out) the words of my Lord, sooner would the ocean be exhausted than would the words of my Lord, even if we added another ocean like it, for its aid."

LEARN BY HEART..

Salam. Apa terjadi dengan blog saya? Sunyi sepi tanpa sebarang entry. It just a mater of time. Ganbate! Aja aja fighting!

Anatomy and physiology.

Anatomy? More simpler I believe. Kita belajar struktur binaan setiap organ dalam tubuh. Anatomy and physiology seolah – olah seperti mengenali dan memahami manusia. Bagi saya, anatomy and physiology gitu lah..anatomy senang sikit sebab kita belajar struktur dia saje. Tapi physiology kita kena consider banyak.

Tapi saya suka belajar semua ni walaupun payah. sebab? Jangan minum banyak caffeine, its affect the function of anti diuretic hormone (ADH) at your distal convoluted tubule at your kidney to reabsorp water. Nanti kita boleh hilang banyak air. When something goes wrong physiologically, you have disease.

(Al- an’am :59)

My professor of anatomy said, NOTHING HAPPENS BY CHANCE. ALLAH PERFECTLY CREATES EVERYTHING PROPERLY. ALLAHU AKBAR. AKBAR MEANS GREAT. Every time we say ALLAHU AKBAR, we know how great ALLAH is. The word AKBAR must give a deeper meaning to our heart because we learn details of ALLAH’S creation...we study it, we observe it and we ponder about it.
For, Believers are those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their hearts, and when they hear His signs rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and put (all) their trust in their Lord (al- anfal:2)

Alangkah indahnya kulihat… berjalan seorang MUSLIMAH MUKMINAH..

Saya rasa terawang- awang saje bila Prof Jalal mula sambung lecture urinary system. Betul ke? Seluruh dunia dah tahu saya baru je tahu pagi tu. Saya tak sangka. She’s 22 I guess. Saya teringatkan dia waktu stadi subjek introduction to pharmacy, philosophy & history, ada topic ethics of muslim pharmacist, Prof Haniki pun ajar 3Q ni jugak. Masa stadi tu saya teringat camne kak hajar cite pasal 3Q ni. Sempoi dan bersahaja. Saya masih ingat lagi gayanya. She is a wonderful person. Saya berura- ura nak tulis sumtin dalam blog pasal 3Q ni,dah taip pun tapi rasa malas nak publish. Hari ni saya jadi teringat balik.

What lead your way?
Intelligence quotients? Emotion quotients? Spiritual quotients?
This is the three Qs that will lead you.
The foundation for all this is your spiritual quotients.
Stephen R. Covey in his book The 8th habit from effectiveness to greatness define SQ as
‘Spiritual intelligence is the central and most fundamental of all the intelligences because it becomes the source of guidance of the other three intelligences’
Zohar D. & marshall I, SQ: Connecting With Our Spiritual Intelligence.
SQ = the intelligence to define essence or values, the intelligence to put our actions and our lives into a wider and richer meaning.

Once our SQ is okay, insya ALLAH it will lead conscious dimension (IQ) and subconscious dimension (EQ) to understand and implement the more huge meaning of life.

Saya buat ni sebelum ni sambil teringat kat dia. Tak sangka hari ni kak hajar dah tak ada…
Habis kelas tengah hari, I start wondering apa ertinya hidup ni? Hidup kemudian mati.
Saya teringat baca buku harun yahya waktu siapkan assignment btq di matrik pj dulu. Saya dah lupa
gambaran keseluruhan isi buku tu. Dalam pendahuluannya, buku tu tanya pembaca apa ertinya kita
hidup? Lalu memetik kata- kata seorang wanita berusia 70 tahun ‘ kalau saya fikir kan semua kisah
kehidupan saya, saya rasa semuanya berlaku dalm sekelip mata. Dari seorang anak kecil saya jadi
seorang remaja dan gadis yang cantik. Kemudian saya menjadi dewasa.
ini?..kalau tanya ustaz jawapan dia pasti to worship ALLAH and act as HIS vicegerent. =) .menjadi hamba
ALLAH dan sebagai khalifah di muka bumi. Jawapan yang tepat tapi sukar dihayati. Abu saif dalam
saifulislam.com kata erti hidup pada memberi.
Saya pun dah jadi keliru.
saya pergi dulu saya jadi tersentak. Hidup ini akan off bila- bila masa sahaja kan. Shut down. Orang kata
syurga. Sebagai anak cucu nabi adam, maka kita katalah begini. SAYA BERASAL DARI SYURGA DAN
HIDUP INI ADALAH PERJALANAN SAYA UNTUK KEMBALI SEMULA KE SYURGA!

9 RAMADHAN 1429H
In great remembrance of a great person who share same name with me, HAJAR in short interval time of this life, I was blessed to know her and without realizing it, I learn a lot from her. MAY ALLAH BLESS HER.

Allahumma ‘gfirla ha war hamha wa’ aafiha wa’ fu anha.

Alcohol in perfume and Listerine: HARAM???

During our organic chemistry lecture with Dr Qamar today, he told us that perfume contain high level of alcohol in ethanol form. It should not be use when you pray. OH NO, my favourite gervenne bouqet fragrance smell very good. Of course, it ingredients are ethanol, butane, propane and fragrance. I was once ask ustaz about this and I remember he told us in the class that it is ok because it is not intoxicant (memabukkan) such as in liquor.

Thing become worsen in class this morning when dr qamar said Listerine contains more ethanol in it compared to beer. (refer above diagram). Then, how you consider it? OH MY GOD, my friend who sit in front of me in the lecture hall told me “macam kumur- kumur ngan arak je kan?”. Hmm…macam mana ni? Buleh guna ke x ni?

I eagerly send sms to ustaz kabuye, one of pious man that I know in my life.

About the perfume different ulama’ have different views because those who allow the use of such a perfume argue that that type of alcohol is different from the one intoxicating and thus permitted to use without any restriction. But one should not use it when one is in the state of uncertainty.

When I asked about the Listerine, he replies me:

Many products contain alcohol but the type of alcohol they contain is described differently by the ulama’. Some consider such products haram to use while others simply allow them. People who take chemistry know about the types of alcohol. I assume it is one of the types which may not be the one intoxicating but still have to find out. Better not to use such products as we are uncertain. Wallahua’lam

Thanks ustaz. Ustaz kabuye send his regards and ask me to convey his salam to all my DQ’s collogue.Assalamualaikum.

During our ungs of Islamic worldview lecture last night, Dr Ibrahim once again remind us how the forbidden of alcohols was made in 3 delicate steps. Everyone during jahiliyah period consume wine. Thus, God asks them to avoid wine step by step.

First, HE asks muslim not to pray while they are not aware of their condition due to wine.
O ye who believe! Approach not prayers with a mind befogged, until ye can understand all that ye say,
(an- nisa:43)

Then ALLAH revealed this ayah:

They ask thee concerning wine and gambling Say: "In them is great sin, And some profit, for men; But the sin is greater Than the profit.
(al- baqarah:219)

Finally, ALLAH declares that wine is HARAM!
O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper.
(al- maidah:90)

“Infrequent consumption of ethanol in small quantities may be harmless or even beneficial …’ stated in my notes. BENEFICIAL? Yet to be discovered…still a long journey to reach there.

Still, We must thankful to ALLAH because being born as a Muslim keep us away from those unbeneficial stuff and we are not living in the community who easily consume it. Wallahu’alam.

plan

hidup tak seindah yang di impi, tak sesempurna perancangan. experiment determining boiling point of organic solvent tadi memang mengecewakan. pembantu lab kata, didihkan saja solvent tu, bila buih dia keluar vigorously, waktu tu lah boiling point dan ambik bacaan nya. macam senang je kan.. saya baca lab manual pun macam senang je. tp bila dah buat...pertama kali buat tu, banyak sangat solvent sampai terkeluar dari capillary. tak jadi lah, buat balik..kali ni tak keluar buih pulak..buat lagi, keluar buih tapi tak reti nak determine bila yang dikatakan buih tu vigorous. 4 kali ulang tetapi tanpa result.jadual untuk isi result kosong je.. my lab partner said 'susah lah eksperiment ni, napelah kena wat eksperiment?' saya pun setuju jugak..tapi bila pikir- pikir, hidup ni begitu lah kan.. tak berjalan sesempurna yang kita rencanakan. banyak benda macam senang je tapi bila kita hadapi dan tempuhinya, telan lah kepahitan nya. tapi sebenarnya dari kepahitan kita akan mengecap kemanisan.

Jabir ibn Hayyan also known as Geber is most renowned Islamic scholar. He was highly acknowledged for his enormous contribution in chemistry. He clearly proclaimed and recognized the importance of experiment. He said ”the first essential in chemistry is that you should perform practical work and conduct experiments, for he who performs not practical work nor makes experiments will never attain the least degree of mastery”

A WEEK AS A UNIVERSITY STUDENT

Anyone would like to ask me how does it feel to be in Kuantan and attend class for the whole week? It was a termendous tiring week for me. All first year bachelor of pharmacy student (B. pharm) have class from 8am to 6pm every day. I tell you..even medical student don’t have any class during evening..doing pharmacy is cool isn’t it?. Meeting all new lectures from all part of the world, take me some times to ‘adapt’ with their way of pronouncing english word and understanding their way of likes and dislikes in class. The third time dr qamar pronounces the word pharmaceutical is the moment I tell myself ‘oh, what he’s saying is ‘pharmaceutical’.it’s quiet different from the way I used to pronounce it. Apart from other class that I feel like being in chemistry and biology class in pj is pharmacy practise subject. The first thing madam halimah tell us in class is ‘ I am a pharmasict and I’m going to teach you the knowledge that only pharmasict will know.’I tell myself..waaaaaaaaah,this is great! Every time she introduce us various types of dosages and way to apply medication she will say ‘interesting, isn’t it?’. Her lectures is indeed VERY INTERESTING,with everyone being interactive and responsive especially brothers.i cannot stop myself from laughing when she told class that the same meaning for the word compatibility is ‘sekung’ in kelantanese slanga, she told us that she must know the way to speak malay in kelantanese slanga properly otherwise she will be daughter out law rather than daughter in law.=)
Dr abdul razak is also a very interesting man. He curses us to change into SPONGEBOB or PATRICK or SQUIDWOOD if we betray our oath that we say during taaruf..also asking us to lend our hand and give ‘kerjasama’ like WONDER PET did to ensure the good biah in Kuantan campus remain as he is the dean of student affair. Except for no note distribution like other lecturer..he said ‘if I give you everything, you are going to do nothing and not even come to my class’..i’m happy learning in his class. Ops, we are going to have tutorials next week…not study yet, (frankly, quiet difficult and torturing without notes=) I remember he told us how great it is to do B.Pharm. he has a degree in (medical bachelor and bachelor of surgery) MBBS.he is a medical doctor. He told us “if I was given chance to be young again and start a new first year back like all all of you, I will do pharmacy instead of MBBS.” He even elobarate to us in term of philosophy, theory and practical ‘why pharmacy is a better choice”. In a materialistic view, being a doctor you get lisence to kill but being a pharmasict give you lisence to sell. Who get more profit?? =) The process of learning is a process to know yourself and deliver our mission as ‘abdALLAh and his vicegerent.
Prof Jalal is another part of intresting story here. He’s not a Malay and it really great to hear him saying lots of Malay word during our anatomy lecture. He is favorable among us. He told us ‘I am a duda who have nobody to talk with at home’,he told us us how he dedicate his entire time teaching anatomy and make all his students get A.
Bahasa melayu lecture is THE MOST GREAT class to attend here. My lecturer is a chinese man.the whole class laugh to death when our lecturer tell us that he call power point as ‘titik berkuasa’. I just realize that I did not hear anything in Malay formaly especially in class for almost 3 years..it make me smile to familiarise myself back that presentation is pembentangan, assignment is tugasan, mid sem exam is peperiksaan pertengahan semester. I remember iqa’s father told me to never underestimate your own language. Dr bala Yauri even told us during our first briefing to kuliyyah of pharmacy that Malay is our mother tounge and no one is going to take it from us. Cintailah Bahasa Melayu. Anyway, it’s a killing subject althought with only 1 contact hour, the highest rank that we can have is only A-. there is no A+ here.A+ is only deserve for ALLAH.
Studying in pharmacy school here we have to learn all basic medical sciences knowledge including anotomy and physiology.this subjects was not thought in other pharmcy school. Our dean, Prof tariq said we are the leading pharmacy school in this country, thus learning all these subjects is required. Kuliyyah of pharmacy is moving towards industrial pharmaceutical other than clinical pharmacy, we are going to invent medcine that is going to be sell other than just going to be used by ourself.
Yet, there are still more lecturer to tell..we have a lot of lecturer for the same subject. They lecture us according to their speciality and timetable is subject to change every week.
This process of acquiring knowledge must be taken whole heartedly and sincerely. Be honest to yourself.

KETAATAN KEPADA ALLAH ADALAH USAHA TERBAIK HAMBA, MAKA TAATLAH PADA ALLAH DAN JANGAN MENDURHAKANYA.
KEHANCURAN JIWA HANYA AKAN BERMULA DARI KEDURHAKAAN.
HINDARILAH APA YANG TERLARANG DAN JANGAN BERDEKATAN JIKA PADA SATU HAL KEHANCURANMU BERAWAL.

reminder from everyone

Bismillahirrahmanirrahihim
A simple reminder from everyone..jaga quran insya ALLAH pelajaran kita terjaga. Keep on iadah. Do it constantly.
Nade pesan: act less think more, think less feel more, feel lest trust more. Keep on believing my friend and our friendship although we may apart due to variety of courses but our heart remain one.
Wardah kata: buat stadi tu satu benda yang sangat menyeronokkan. Baca buku pelajaran macam baca novel.

LIFE AS STUDENT

Student is defined as person who devoted in studying profession. Being a Muslim student, it is a basic necessity to understand why the process of learning should be taken whole heartedly and not be taken for granted. History had marked that early Muslim’s success is through knowledge. Modern equipped facilities for education and learning had been established in Cordova, Spain and Baghdad, Iraq before. With the guide of Al- Quran, early Muslim becomes world class experts in various fields such as medicine, astronomy, geography, mathematics and sea voyage. The success of all Muslim scholars also being acknowledge by Non- Muslim scholars. Napoleon Bonaparte had said “I hope the time is not far off when I shall be able to unite all the wise & educated men of all the countries & establish a uniform regime based on the principles of the Quran which alone are true & which alone can lead men to happiness”.

The process of acquiring knowledge however is not an easy task. Moreover, Allah s.w.t had stated in the Holy Quran:

Verily, we have created man into toil and struggle.
(al balad : 40)

Allah mentions that this world is not a place to rest and enjoy but men has been created into toil and struggle.

In life, it is clear that the future of men depends on his struggle and effort based on the meaning of surah al- najm verse 39:

And that man can have nothing but what he does.

Thus, it is understood that students has to study hard and give extra effort in the process of acquiring knowledge in order to gain success.
The process of acquiring knowledge should be taken seriously as the level of those educated and non- educated men is different. Allah mentions it in the Quran for men to ponder.
Say are those equal, those who know and those who do not know?
(Surah Zumar: 9)

The ultimate goal of every Muslim which is to attain paradise which will only be achieved through knowledge. With knowledge men can follow the right path that will lead to a successful life in Hereafter. Knowledge in Islam is not only meaning for us and others but to act upon Allah.

It is only those who have knowledge amongst His slaves that fear Allah
(surah faathir:28)

Muslims scholars also quoted that “Knowledge is not narrating much but knowledge is fear of Allah”

By complete and comprehend understanding of the importance of knowledge, students will not give laments and study hard although sometimes they have to struggle and give extra effort in difficult subjects. Furthermore, Allah teaches every Muslim to make dua to Him. Allah likes His servant who always begging for Him during difficult or easy time.
Allah said :

“and your Lord said: invoke me (believe in me alone and ask me anything). I will respond to your (invocation). Verily, those who scorn My worship (i.e., do not believe in My oneness or ask Me), they will surely enter Hell in humiliation.”
(Ghafir:60)

The prophet also used to turn to Allah with the following dua: “O Allah, Lord of Jibrael, and Mikael and Israfeel, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who know the unseen and seen; You do decide among Your servants concerning their differences. Guide me with Your permission in the divergent views (which people hold) about Truth; for it is You Who guides Whom You will to the straight path.” (Related by Muslim).

ALLHAMDULILLAH. Finish it!
1 day more before going to Kuantan.
Kuantan… I’m coming!

Complete my task and ustaz give his respond.

ahsanti! sebenarnya ust ada sebab ust suruh antum semua buat research and article ni.there is no mark which is proper enough to evaluate your effort.

ust nak antum semua well prepared and realize the reality of this life and life to come especially antum yg dalam bidang medic, farmasi and dentist ni. hidup ni tak pernah sunyi dengan kesusahan dan kepayahan. bahkan prof hamka sebut dalam tafsirnya al-azhar bahawa buat jahat pun satu kepayahan dan buat baik pun satu kepayahan. belajar adalah perkara baik yg perlu kepada kepayahan. berkeluarga juga perkara baik tapi perlu kepada kepayahan. berzina perbuatan jahat tapi perlu kepada kepayahan. jadi dalam menempuhi semua kepayahan ni perlulah kita bijak memilih untuk mengalami kepayahan dalam perbuatan baik atau jahat...

dan imam fakhrurazi dlm tafsir kabirnya mafatih al-ghaib jugak sebut bahawa kelazatan hidup dunia ni bukan kelazatan semata, tetapi hanya suatu proses untuk menhilangkan kepayahan. contohnya kita makan rasa sedap tapi sedap itu bukanlah kelazatan hakiki tapi hanya kekenyangan dari kepayahan kelaparan semata.

fikir2kanlah wahai anak2ku....
wassalam.
p/s: kirim salam kat semua anak2 ust kat sana esok.kalau turun cfs uiam jenguk2lah ayah antum ni kat ofis dia...

okay ustaz..panjang umur insya ALLAH dpt pg jalan2 pj :-)

Tuhan..

Isu tudung: Turki bakal bergolak

• Setelah enam dekad Nakbah:

Berasaskan tulisan Dr. Zainur Rashid, Perunding Aman Palestin.

TARBIAH RUHIAH

Ketika mengukuti program bengkel kemahiran keibubapaan sabtu lepas, ustah pahrol mohd juoi membawakan tajuk ceramah pendidikan peringkat kanak- kanak.

LEADERS ARE LEANERS, when you stop learning you stop leading.
’susun balik hidup kita’ dan kata ustaz pahrol SATU KEBAIKAN DIMULAKAN BERULANG- ULANG KALI, repetition is mother of knowledge.

Belief system/ iman

Mindset/ world view

Value

Attitude

Behaviour

Stephen Covey menulis dalam bukunya the 7 habits of highly effective people…habit yang ketiga adalah PUT FIRST THING FIRST..kembali lah kita kepada pesoalan SOLAT . Baiki solat! Baiki hubungan dengan ALLAH!

BACHELOR OF PHARMACY…HERE I COME! (^_^)

Why I’m destined to do this course?...
Let us senpai(senior) how they manage to face it for the whole day and night..
Here is the respond I get..

By the will of Allah, I’ll be registering as a final year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) student this coming July 7, 2008. Thinking about this always makes me feel terrible since it means that within one year from now on, I’ll be serving my people with my own capacity gifted by Allah the Almighty. A gift from Allah is one story but my own preparation is another story. There are too many things that I have to learn by heart so that I can face the in-coming obstacles patiently and successfully. I wonder if I can give the best of me to other people. So, I say a little pray that He’ll be guiding me, shower me with His Blessing along the way and help me to be istiqamah in His way, amen!

In the beginning of every new academic session, these common questions will be bombarded to me by my juniors:

1- “What are the things that we will learn during the first year?”
2- “Is that difficult to study pharmacy?”
3- “What is so special doing the B. Pharm?”

The followings are my personal based-on-experience-answers dedicated to all my juniors out there! Because they are personal answers, so they may not resemble other official remarks, okay? Hope they can provide you a clearer over-view.

1- There are 2 answers for this question. Firstly, you will study the fundamental subjects such as intro to pharmacy, physiology, pharmacy practice, anatomy & histology, Islamic worldview, physical pharmacy, organic chemistry, microbiology, Bahasa Melayu, IT etc. You have to aim to score as much as possible during this 1st year of the real campus life. These should be motivating though, since you’ll be facing a lot of new terms which you never come across while you were studying in CFS. It’s a new knowledge which should be adored wholeheartedly. To achieve the aim, you have to simultaneously put a strong grip to my second answer.

So, secondly, you will learn on how to adapt with a totally new life: new friends, new roommates, new lecturers, new subjects, and of course new responsibilities. If you can’t cope with these new stuffs, they will terribly affect your study. Sounds scary? Don’t worry, dear. As long as you open your big heart to take the challenge, you’ll be strong enough. Don’t take too much time only to recognize your own effective study style. I advise this since poking your face on the books all the times and neglecting other things is not a good habit. As a dai’e, you also have 24 hours a day just like others. Thus, you have to wisely manage your precious time as your burdens will be relatively greater than others, which make your time lesser than your responsibilities. The most important thing is do plan your life carefully and making a things-to-do-list will be very helpful. After your every struggle, put your tawakkal on Allah. Hopefully, He is guiding you to the very best that you can do. It is not a peculiar thing to suddenly hear a scream in the midst of a peaceful night. Oops, not a hysteria! Rather, it is a tension scream of those who do not know how to practice tawakkal. Now, you see the importance of good management, striving and surrendering? So, be cool!

2- Well, for me, it’s not fair to say that this course is more difficult than that course or this course is lighter than any other course. For example, a medical student may think that his course is the hardest thing in the world he has to face because he has to study almost all diseases, diagnosis, prevention and treatment in detail. Once entering the clinical years, he’ll be doing the ward-round and on-call now and then. The student will be graded as only pass or fail in every examination and the examination takes 3 – 4 days. Whereas, a pharmacy student may also want to say that he has a tougher life. He has to go to class from 8 am to 6 pm almost everyday, study about diseases, prevention, treatment and drugs (in detail), write 3 – 4 lab reports to be submitted in a week, do the case write-up in the clinical years, attach to retail and hospital pharmacy to gain experience and sit for mid- and end-semester examination which will usually last for at least 1 week and the results will be carried forward to the next subsequent years. By giving this real example, I bet you can now understand that this is the kind of life that human beings have to lead; there are ups and downs, sooner or later. Try to be patient, alright?

3- For the third question, the answer is: SECRETS! To dig out the secrets, you have to be in the journey of a pharmacy student. As you move forward, more and more secrets will be revealed. It's only you who will know what the special things are, not anyone else. I’ve found some of the buried secrets which I hope can help me in becoming one of the loyal servants of Allah and I’m still searching for more. I hope that you’ll find the treasure too!

waktu di islamic solidary scholl(iss), anak kecil maria datang berborak dengan saya.'kakak, maria mahu kakak datang ke sini, jangan pulang- pulang lagi, maria ngak punya sesiapa'. she really touched my heart...another kids ask my friend.'kakak, kakak masih punya ayah dan ibu?' selepas mengiyakan pertanyaannya..dia menjawab 'enaknya..'.aceh bring thousand of tears and a deep lesson. i am indeed, very lucky.LUCKY.ALHAMDULILLAH

I don’t want to have any expectation about Aceh. I’m quiet disappointed coz I don’t have chance to find any info about Aceh before I go there. I finished my final exam on 18 march, petang tu Azmad dah bagi masterplan semua biro, I have to combine all of them to make GENERAL MASTER PLAN. Pening buat benda ni..tak siap pun malam tu..esoknya kami tiga- tiga pc buat sama- sama. Me, azmad and lya. Kejap je siap..hehe..ni namanya ‘kekompakan’ ertinya kerjasama. Belajar dengan anak- anak Aceh (^_^).

Pertama kali naik kapal terbang, mujur Aisyah ada kat tepi..Aisyah akan bagitahu apa akan berlaku..pening kepala saya..cantik sangat ya pandangan dunia ni dari pesawat. SUBHANALLAH.

Catatan sebuah perjalanan

ACEH..21 MARET 2008 – 30 MARET 2008

Going to Aceh had become unforgetfull and everlasting memories in my mind and heart. I miss all those times with all the orphan kids. I miss all those hard time that I had to face to explain them about the game we want to play. I miss the sightseeing view of Janthoe and the fresh air that I breathe every morning at Islamic Solidarity School (ISS)..except for the lake..that place resembles Darul Quran so much (^_^). Being with all the kids, they really touch my heart, last Friday when all of us are about to left them..one little girl come and ask me.. “kakak, kapan kita kan ketemu lagi?”.. sad, unable to answer it..i just smile. Within me..i pray hard and wish that I will come here again one day.

“saya sudah ngak punya ibu ayah kerana tsunami kelmarin”..saya menangis lagi..anak- anak Naggroe Aceh Darussalam..terima kasih kerana mengajar erti sebuah kehidupan..
